Join us as we enter the heart of the liturgical year. The Paschal Triduum begins tonight with the evening Mass of the Lord’s Supper, where we sit at the table with Christ and witness the depth of His sacrificial love.

Event Description

Holy Thursday begins the Paschal Triduum, entering the mystery of the New Covenant. The Mass of the Lord’s Supper commemorates the institution of the Eucharist, the ministerial priesthood, and the commandment of fraternal charity.

The liturgy echoes the Jewish Passover, which Christ transforms: the breaking of bread becomes His Body, the cup becomes His Blood, the new and eternal sacrifice. The washing of feet, the Mandatum, reveals the radical humility of divine love—Christ, the High Priest, serves.

After the Mass, the altar is stripped, the Blessed Sacrament is transferred to the Altar of Repose, and the Church enters silent vigil, recalling Gethsemane. The Triduum is one continuous liturgy; Holy Thursday is its opening, a night of gift and betrayal.
