GOOD FRIDAY (03 April, 2026)
“He was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.” — Isaiah 53:5
On this most somber day of the year, we stand at the foot of the Cross. Silence falls over the Church as we contemplate the depth of a love that chose the nails and the crown of thorns for our sake. Join us as we enter into the mystery of the Passion.
Event Description
Good Friday is the only day in the liturgical year without a Mass. The Church commemorates the Lord’s Passion and Death. The liturgy has three parts: the Liturgy of the Word, the Passion according to John, the Solemn Intercessions for the whole world, the Veneration of the Cross, the wood on which hung the Saviour of the world, and Holy Communion from the Sacrament reserved on Holy Thursday.
This is the day of the great paradox: the Cross is the throne of glory, the instrument of salvation. Christ, the new Adam, offers perfect obedience, and from His pierced side flow blood and water—the sacraments of the Church. The Church fasts strictly, joining in spirit to the Bridegroom taken away.

We have a strong sense of community with parishioners. People and children of all ages here are encouraged to learn about their own faith and the role of the church in our community and worldwide.
